How do I add additional text or a final date to a headstone or monument that has already been installed?
It is not uncommon for a companion headstone or monument to have been produced with only the information of the deceased at that time. In other cases, just the final resting date of the living person is left blank to be completed at their time of death. Arlington Memorials is able to provide on-site engraving services at any Southern California cemetery. When the time comes to add the final inscription for your loved one, we are here to assist you.
If we did not produce the original memorial, it will be necessary to take a rubbing of the existing tombstone so that the letter style, size and spacing can be matched. The final inscription is added to the existing memorial right at the cemetery.
Our prices are determined by the amount of text that will need to be engraved on to the existing memorial. The average price for engraving the final year (i.e. 2011) is $140.00. This price includes a rubbing of the existing memorial and 4 letters of text engraved at the cemetery. Please contact us if you would like a custom price quote.
